Logical reasoning

In mathematics we use logical reasoning to solve problems. Here, problems are explained in words with some data and clues. To solve these type of problems, we need to read the problem carefully to understand what we need to do, then collect the data and understand the clues given. Using these two,we need to solve the problem. This type of problems will give good exercise to our brain. It increases thinking and capacity of brain.

Example:

In my farm, besides me, there are 2 cows and a pig. How many legs you can see in the farm altogether ?

Solution:

Here is how we can solve this problem:

- First, read and collect the given data
- From the given statement, we know that there are 2 cows, 1 pig and 1 person
- Remember, animals have 4 legs and humans have 2 legs
- So, 2 cows have (4 + 4) legs, the pig also has 4 legs and I have 2 legs.
- We can get the answer to the problem if we add all the legs together. In other words:

4 + 4 + 4 + 2 = 14

Therefore, the answer to our problem is 14. In other words, we can see 14 legs in the farm altogether.
